This topic lists the versions of Microsoft SQL Server that are supported for each System Center 2012 SP1 component.

Note

SQL Server 2008 R2 SP3 is only supported if you have installed Update Rollup 9 for Operations Manager 2012 SP1.

SQL Server 2012 AlwaysOn Support

In System Center 2012 SP1, SQL Server 2012 AlwaysOn is supported in the following components:

  • App Controller

  • Operations Manager

  • Orchestrator

  • Service Manager

For VMM, SQL Server AlwaysOn is supported. However, if you want to use AlwaysOn Availability Groups then only synchronous-commit availability mode is recommended. For more information, see System Requirements: VMM Database in System Center 2012 and in System Center 2012 SP1.

SQL Server AlwaysOn isn't supported with Data Protection Manager (DPM) and Configuration Manager.
