The Windows Contacts API is provided for backward compatibility only. New applications should not use this set of programming interfaces. The Contacts Gadget, which used the Windows Contacts API, has also been removed.

Additional information

When upgrading from Windows Vista® to Windows® 7, user data on the Contacts Gadget is preserved in the same location as it was on Windows Vista.
