This topic applies only to SQL Server 2000 (64-bit).

Upgrades are not supported for this release of SQL Server 2000 (64-bit). The 32-bit versions of SQL Server are not supported on the 64-bit Microsoft Windows® operating system, so you cannot upgrade from a previous 32-bit release of SQL Server (including SQL Server 2000 [32-bit], SQL Server version 7.0, or SQL Server version 6.5) to SQL Server 2000 (64-bit).
