Find a data point or territory

  1. On the Edit menu, click Find, and then click the Place / Data tab.

  2. In the place name box, type the name of the data point or territory you want to locate.

    The name of a data point is from the column you identified as Name when you imported or linked data.

    The name of a territory is from the column you identified as Territory when you imported or linked data to create territories, or the name you assigned when you created territories using MapPoint.

  3. Click Find.

    A list of place names with similar spellings appears in the results list, with the first place in the list selected and centered on the map.

  4. In the results list, select the name of the data point or territory you're looking for.

    Your selection appears on the map.

  5. Click OK.

Tip  You can also find a data point or territory using the Find edit box on the Navigation toolbar:

Type the name of the data point or territory and then click Find. If an exact match is found, it appears centered on the map. Otherwise, the Find dialog box opens with a list of possible matches.
