Start or stop the AOS Windows service

You can start, stop, or restart the Application Object Server (AOS) service by using Server Manager. If you must stop the AOS service on a production server, we recommend that you perform the procedure during off-peak hours to avoid dropped connections for clients and databases.

  1. Click Start > Administrative Tools > Server Manager.

  2. Expand Configuration, and then click Services.

  3. In the details pane, select Microsoft Dynamics AX Object Server 6.0$ InstanceName, and then click Start, Stop, or Restart.
