About routes
Microsoft MapPoint uses information that you provide to calculate routes and driving directions that meet your needs. For instance, you can enter stops on your route in a specific order, optimize the stops on your route to minimize travel time, schedule stops and specify the length of your average driving day, set road-type preferences and estimate your average driving speeds for those road types, estimate travel costs, and view detailed route maps complete with driving directions.
The types of stops that you can add to your route include addresses, attractions and businesses, and Pushpins or other markers for data mapped as exact locations.
