Default values (form)

Click Product information management > Setup > Product builder > Defaults > Default values.

Use this form to create default values for modeling variables. These default values remain in force unless they are overwritten during item configuration either by user selections or by computed values.

Task that uses this form

Set up default values

The following table provides descriptions for the controls in this form.

Fields

Field

Description

Valid for

Select one of the following options for the default value.

  • Table – The default value is valid for a single customer.

  • Group – The default value is valid for a customer group.

  • All – The default value is valid for all customers.

Click Product information management > Setup > Product builder > Groups > Customer product model groups. A customer can be attached to such a group through the Product model field under Accounts receivable > Customers (on the Sales order tab, Sales order field group).

Customer relation

  • If the Valid for field to the left of this field is set to Table, select a customer relation here - that is, a customer account number.

  • If the Valid for field to the left of this field is set to Group, select a customer product model group here.

  • If the Valid for field to the left of this field is set to All, the default value is valid for all customers in the system and you do not need to select anything here.

Click Product information management > Setup > Product builder > Groups > Customer product model groups. A customer can be attached to such a group by using the Product model field under Accounts receivable > Customers (on the Sales order tab, Sales order field group).

Valid for

Select one of the following options for the default value.

  • Table – The default value is valid for a single item.

  • Group – The default value is valid for an item group.

  • All – The default value is valid for all items.

Click Product information management > Setup > Product builder > Groups > Item product model groups. Click Product information management > Common > Released products.

Item relation

  • If the Valid for field to the left of this field is set to Table, select an item relation here - that is, an item number.

  • If the Valid for field to the left of this field is set to Group, select an item product model group here.

  • If the Valid for field to the left of this field is set to All, the default value is valid for all items in the system and you do not need to select anything here.

Click Product information management > Setup > Product builder > Groups > Item product model groups. Click Product information management > Common > Released products.

Configuration

Select an item configuration for which the default value will be valid. You can do this if:

  • You selected Table in the Valid for field.

  • The item that you selected in the Item relation field belongs to the dimension group with the configuration dimension enabled.

Size

Select an item size for which the default value will be valid. You can do this if:

  • You selected Table in the Valid for field

  • The item that you selected in the Item relation field belongs to the dimension group with the size dimension enabled.

Color

Select an item color for which the default value will be valid. You can do this if:

  • You selected Table in the Valid for field

  • The item that you selected in the Item relation field belongs to the dimension group with the color dimension enabled.

Variable

Select the name of a modeling variable that should have a default value for the specified customer/item relation.
