The following section describes where you can integrate custom menus, side-tabs, and buttons into the Microsoft CRM 3.0 Web application and Microsoft CRM 3.0 client for Microsoft Office Outlook.

Microsoft CRM 3.0 Web Application

The following table lists the supported Microsoft CRM application integration points.

Area Description
Main navigation pane You can add side tabs to the navigation pane (on the left) in each module: Home, Workplace, Sales, Service, Marketing and Reports. Deprecated. Use SiteMap instead.
Global menu bar You can add menus between the GoTo menu and the Help menu in the global menu bar.
Detail form menu bar You can add menus to the left of the Help menu to the following detail forms: Account, Campaign, Campaign Activity, Campaign Response, Case, Contact, Invoice, Lead, List, Opportunity, Order, Quote and custom entities.
Detail form toolbar You can add buttons to the toolbar on detail forms.
Detail form navigation pane You can add side tabs to the navigation pane (on the left) in detail forms.
Entity grid You can add buttons to the left of the Actions menu and can add menu items to the Actions menu in grid views.

Microsoft CRM 3.0 Client for Microsoft Outlook

The following table lists the supported Outlook client integration points.

Area Description
Global menu bar You can add menus between the Tools and Help menus on the global menu bar for the Outlook client. When a user clicks a menu item on one of these menus, the URL opens in a new window or dialog box. For more information, see the MenuBar and CustomMenus elements.
Detail form menu bar You can add menus between the Actions and Help menus on the following detail forms: Account, Contact, Lead, Opportunity, Quote, SalesOrder (Order), and Invoice. When a user clicks a menu item on one of these menus, the URL opens in a new window. For more information, see the MenuBar and CustomMenus elements.
Detail form toolbar You can add buttons to the toolbar on the following detail forms: Account, Contact, Incident (Case), Invoice, Lead, Opportunity, Quote, and SalesOrder (Order). When a user clicks one of these buttons, the URL opens in a new window. For more information, see the ToolBar element.
Detail form navigation pane You can add side tabs to the navigation pane (on the left side) on the following detail forms: Account, Contact, Incident (Case), Invoice, Lead, Opportunity, Quote, and SalesOrder (Order). When a user clicks one of these side tabs, the URL opens in the view pane. For more information, see the NavBar element.

Note   Although the Outlook client does not include a menu for Incidents (Cases), you can access them (as read-only forms) through other detail forms, such as the Account detail form.
