Depreciation book journal (form)

Click Fixed assets > Journals > Depreciation book journal.

Use this form to enter transactions for depreciation books.

The following tables provide descriptions for the controls in this form.

Overview tab

View the depreciation book journal names and journal batch numbers.

General tab

View and change specific information for the active depreciation book journal. You can set the posting rules.

Blocking

View the private journal information.

History

View the journal history. This includes the original journal number.

Open the Journal line form.

Validate

Complete the journal transaction validation process.

Post

Click Post to post the transaction.

Click Post and transfer to post the transaction and transfer any lines with errors to a new journal.

Description

Name

The journal name for the journal transaction.

Journal batch number

The journal batch number of the transaction.

Description

The description of the journal.

Posted

If the check box is selected, the journal transaction has been posted.

In use

If the check box is selected, the journal is being used.

Delete lines after posting

Select this check box to delete journal lines after posting is completed.

Lines limit

Specify the number of lines to be posted in the journal. Any lines over the limit are posted to additional journals.

In use

If this check box is selected, the journal is currently being used.

Private

If this check box is selected, the journal is marked as private.

Locked by system

If the journal has been locked by the system, this check box is selected, and you cannot post in the journal. You can also select this check box manually. To release a locked journal, clear this check box.

Private for user group

The user group that has access to the journal. Only the users associated with the group can access the journal.

Original journal number

The original journal number.

Posted

If selected, the journal has been posted.

Posted on

The date of posting, if the current journal has been posted.

Log

Stores the error messages that were generated when the journal was being validated. After the errors have been corrected and a new validation has been successfully run, the error messages are automatically deleted.
