About drawing on the map

You can use drawing tools to customize your map by adding your own labels and shapes. For instance, you can use Highlight to draw a highlighted line on the map; use lines and arrows to indicate direction; add a text box to provide information about a place on the map; or use freeform shapes, circles, ovals, rectangles, and squares to call attention to places on the map.

Once you have created your drawing, you can use the tools on the Drawing toolbar to change its color, size, or shape.

If you have created a data map, you can use drawing tools to create a shape on the map, and then export any data contained within that shape to Microsoft Excel.
