Load or unload a COM add-in

To load a COM add-in

  1. On the Tools menu, click COM Add-ins.
  2. Select the check box next to the add-in name in the Add-ins available list, and then click OK.

To unload a COM add-in

  1. On the Tools menu, click COM Add-ins.
  2. Clear the check box next to the add-in name in the Add-ins available list, and then click OK.

Notes

Loading a COM add-in makes it active, which means that it will run and do what it has been programmed to do.

Unloading a COM add-in makes it inactive but keeps its name in the Add-ins available list and does not delete it from your computer.

Most COM add-ins are loaded automatically when they are installed.
