[This topic is intended to address a specific issue called out by the Exchange Server Analyzer Tool. You should apply it only to systems that have had the Exchange Server Analyzer Tool run against them and are experiencing that specific issue. The Exchange Server Analyzer Tool, available as a free download, remotely collects configuration data from each server in the topology and automatically analyzes the data. The Microsoft® Exchange Server Analyzer Tool was unable to read the transaction log files.

To correct this error

  • Verify that you have the permissions that are required to access the transaction log file folder.

  • Verify that the file has not been exclusively locked by another process. One way to verify this is to try to rename the file. If you can successfully rename the file, this indicates the file is not exclusively locked. (Remember to rename the file back to its original name.)
