Coexistence with Different SMTP Mail Domains

This topic explains how to configure Exchange Server and a server running the Windows Server POP3 service to coexist using different SMTP mail domains. In this example, Exchange users use the SMTP mail domain, exchange.northwindtraders.com, and the POP3 user use the SMTP mail domain, pop.contoso.com. In this scenario, Exchange Server accepts e-mail for Exchange Server users with the address of exchange.northwindtraders.com and it also accepts e-mail for POP3 users with a different address, pop.contoso.com.
