The Microsoft® Exchange Server Analyzer Tool reads the following registry entry to determine whether debug mode is enabled in ScanMail for Microsoft Exchange by Trend Micro:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\TrendMicro\ScanMail for Exchange\CurrentVersion\DebugModule

If the value data for DebugModule contains one or more of the following strings, the Exchange Server Analyzer displays a warning:

  • HOST:1

  • CONFIG:1

  • MASTER:1

  • WATCHER:1

  • STORE:1

  • INETINFO:1

  • TCHER:1

  • MON:1

  • MONITOR:1

This warning indicates that debug mode is currently enabled for one or more ScanMail for Microsoft Exchange module. Trend Micro recommends that debug mode be enabled only when it is required, for example, for troubleshooting. Trend Micro recommends that otherwise debug mode be disabled for ordinary operations.

To correct this warning

  1. Review the following Trend Micro knowledge base article, "Enabling the ScanMail for Exchange (SMEX) 7.0 debugging through the Registry Editor" (http://kb.trendmicro.com/solutions/search/main/search/solutionDetail.asp?solutionID=25532).

  2. Disable debugging for all modules by following the instructions in the Trend Micro knowledge base article.
