Public Folder Store Database size limit has been set

[This topic is intended to address a specific issue called out by the Exchange Server Analyzer Tool. You should apply it only to systems that have had the Exchange Server Analyzer Tool run against them and are experiencing that specific issue. The Exchange Server Analyzer Tool, available as a free download, remotely collects configuration data from each server in the topology and automatically analyzes the data. The resulting report details important configuration issues, potential problems, and nondefault product settings. By following these recommendations, you can achieve better performance, scalability, reliability, and uptime. The Microsoft® Exchange Server Analyzer Tool reads the following registry entry to determine whether the Database Size Limit in Gb registry value is present and configured for the public folder store:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchangeIS\<Server_Name>\Public-<MailboxStoreGUID>

If the Exchange Server Analyzer finds that the Database Size Limit in Gb value is present and configured, the Exchange Server Analyzer displays a non-default configuration message.

When Exchange Server 2003 Service Pack 2 (SP2) is applied to Exchange Server 2003 Standard Edition, the hard-coded licensing database size limit is increased from 16 gigabytes (GB) to 75 GB. You can set a protective database size limit to prevent unintentional database size growth. The default size limit value in SP2 is 18 GB, and this default value can be overwritten by creating the Database Size Limit in Gb registry value.
