Introduction to Exchange Server 2003 ESM Features - Part 3

This article continues the coverage of all features that can be viewed from Exchange System Manager (ESM) or the Active Directory Users and Computers tool in Microsoft® Exchange Server 2003 before Service Pack 2 (SP2). This article (as well as its companion articles, Introduction to Exchange Server 2003 ESM Features - Part 1 and Introduction to Exchange Server 2003 ESM Features - Part 2) can be used as a quick reference to where to find features in the ESM user interface. More information about these features can generally be found in the Exchange Server 2003 Help file.

From ESM expand Tools. Right-click Mailbox Recovery Center to add mailbox stores.

Click the Mailboxes object under the mailbox store. Select one or multiple mailboxes in the right pane, and then right-click and run Exchange Tasks.

Run Exchange Tasks on mailboxes either from ESM or Active Directory Users and Computers and select Move Mailbox.

Some of the features you can use are: multithreaded move, scheduling of mailbox move, handling of corrupted items, reporting.

View the Properties of a user who has a mailbox on server that runs the Exchange Server 2003 by using the Active Directory Users and Computers Exchange Features tab.

Run Exchange Task Wizard on mailboxes either from ESM or Active Directory Users and Computers and select Configure Exchange Features.

In Active Directory Users and Computers, right-click an Organizational Unit, select New, and then click InterOrgPerson.

In Active Directory Users and Computers, right-click an Organizational Unit, select New, and then click Query-based Distribution Group.

In Active Directory Users and Computers, select Properties of a Distribution Group and then select the Exchange General tab.

In Active Directory Users and Computers, open the Properties of a user who has an Exchange mailbox. Note that you can see all Exchange tabs even though Advanced Mode is not turned on for the Microsoft Management Console (MMC). You no longer need to select View, and then select Advanced Features.
