The Microsoft® Exchange Server Analyzer Tool queries the CIM_Datafile Microsoft Windows® Management Instrumentation (WMI) class to determine the value of the Version key for adapterSMTP.dll. This module is included with ScanMail for Microsoft Exchange from Trend Micro.

If the Exchange Server Analyzer finds the value of the Version key for adapterSMTP.dll to be less than 7.0.1386, the Exchange Server Analyzer displays a warning.

This warning indicates that ScanMail for Microsoft Exchange version 7 is installed on the Exchange server and that a recommended software update is available. This update is highly recommended and can improve the overall performance and reliability of the server.

To correct this warning

  1. Visit the Trend Micro Update Center Web site (http://www.trendmicro.com/download/).

  2. Download and install any required or recommended updates to ScanMail for Microsoft Exchange.
