The Microsoft® Exchange Server Analyzer Tool reads the following registry entry to determine whether version 7.0 of Trend Micro ScanMail for Microsoft Exchange is installed:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\TrendMicro\ScanMail for Exchange\CurrentVersion\Version

If ScanMail for Microsoft Exchange version 7 is installed, the Exchange Server Analyzer reads the following registry entry to determine the location of the TEMP directory used by ScanMail for Microsoft Exchange:

HKLM\Software\TrendMicro\ScanMail for Exchange\CurrentVersion\TempDir

The Exchange Server Analyzer then counts the number of files in the TEMP directory used by ScanMail for Microsoft Exchange.

The Exchange Server Analyzer displays a warning if the following conditions are true:

  • Version 7.0 of ScanMail for Microsoft Exchange is installed.

  • More than 100 files are in the TEMP directory used by ScanMail for Microsoft Exchange.

This warning indicates the presence of many files in the TEMP directory used by ScanMail for Microsoft Exchange. The files in this folder are temporary files used by ScanMail for Microsoft Exchange. ScanMail for Microsoft Exchange is supposed to automatically delete these files.

If there are many files dated before the current date, Trend Micro recommends that you delete the old files.
