How to View Permissions That Control Access to Mail-Enabled Folder Attributes

This topic explains how to use Exchange System Manager to view the permissions on the public folder object in Microsoft Active Directory directory service.

Before You Begin

It is recommended that you leave the settings viewed below at their default values. The main purpose of the security descriptor of the proxy object in Active Directory is to give Exchange services access to the object while limiting other access to the object.

Procedure

To view permissions that control access to mail-enabled folder attributes

  1. In Exchange System Manager, right-click the folder that you want to view, and then click Properties.

  2. In the Properties dialog box, click the Permissions tab, and then click Directory rights.
