How to Restore the Permissions that Exchange Requires

 

Modifying the default permissions on Exchange Server 2003 mailbox stores and public folder stores can cause errors. To restore the permissions that Exchange requires, perform the following procedure.

Procedure

To restore the permissions that Exchange requires

  1. In Exchange System Manager, right-click the public folder tree, and then click Properties.

  2. In the Properties dialog box, click the Security tab, click Advanced, and then select Allow inheritable permissions from parent to propagate to this object.

  3. Wait for Active Directory to replicate the change to all the domain controllers.

  4. Right-click the public folder store, and then click Mount Store.
