Get-MailboxPermission

Use the Get-MailboxPermission cmdlet to get permissions on a mailbox.


Get-MailboxPermission -Identity <MailboxIdParameter> [-DomainController <Fqdn>] [-User <SecurityPrincipalIdParameter>]


Get-MailboxPermission -Identity <MailboxIdParameter> [-DomainController <Fqdn>] [-Owner <SwitchParameter>]

This cmdlet allows you to retrieve the permissions set for a user's mailbox.

To run the Get-MailboxPermission cmdlet, the account you use must be delegated the following:

  • Exchange View-Only Administrator role

Parameter Required Type Description

Identity

Required

Microsoft.Exchange.Configuration.Tasks.MailboxIdParameter

The Identity parameter specifies the identity of the mailbox for which permission is required.

Owner

Optional

System.Management.Automation.SwitchParameter

The Owner parameter specifies the owner of that mailbox.

User

Optional

Microsoft.Exchange.Configuration.Tasks.SecurityPrincipalIdParameter

The User parameter specifies the user principal name (UPN), domain\user, or the alias of the user.

DomainController

Optional

Microsoft.Exchange.Data.Fqdn

To specify the fully qualified domain name (FQDN) of the domain controller that retrieves data from the Active Directory directory service, include the DomainController parameter in the command.
