Mail-Disabling User Objects
Disabling mail-enabled user or inetOrgPerson objects is sometimes necessary if organizations have a policy to disable the accounts prior to deletion. To mail-disable a user or inetOrgPerson object, the Exchange Administrator must have the Exchange delegated role, Exchange View-Only Administrator (or higher), on the target administrative group. In addition, the Exchange Administrator must have Read and Write access to the following user or inetOrgPerson object attributes:

Mail-disabling an object removes mail-related properties from the object; it does not disable the object as an authentication principal.
