Topic Last Modified: 2006-09-15

When you select the Server Configuration node, all Exchange servers in your Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 organization are listed in the result pane.

noteNote:
The nodes that appear under Server Configuration display only the Exchange servers that have a specific server role installed. For more information about these sub-nodes, see Server Configuration.

To focus on a set of servers that have specific attributes, you can use a variety of expressions to filter the list that appears in the result pane. For more information about filters, see How to Filter the Result Pane.

noteNote:
To modify how server configuration objects are displayed in Microsoft Management Console (MMC), click View in the action pane. For more information about view options, see Recipient Configuration.

When you select an Exchange server from the result pane, the following server-specific actions are available either by right-clicking the server name or by using the action pane.

Manage <Server Role>
  • Click Manage <Server Role> to manage the configuration for servers that have the selected server role installed. When you click Manage <Server Role>, you will navigate to the corresponding sub-node under Server Configuration

  • For links to more information about Exchange 2007 server roles, see "For More Information" later in this topic.

Enter Product Key

Click Enter Product Key to enter a product key for an Exchange 2007 server that does not have a product key configured.

noteNote:
This action is available only if you installed the 64-bit version of Exchange 2007.
Properties
  • Click Properties to view all properties for the selected server.

  • If you select Server Configuration, select a server in the result pane, and then click Properties, the <Server Name> Properties displays tabs for all the server roles that are installed on the server.

  • If you expand Server Configuration, select a server role sub-node, select a server in the result pane, and then click Properties, the <Server Name> Properties displays tabs for only the server role that you selected in the console tree.

For example, if you expand Server Configuration, click Client Access, select a server that has the Client Access server role installed, and then click Properties, the <Server Name> Properties displays only the General tab and the Outlook Anywhere tab. These tabs are specific to Client Access servers.
