You can set up a Computer Telephony Integration (CTI) system in Microsoft Dynamics AX by using the Microsoft Telephony Application Programming Interface (TAPI). The CTI registers and administers incoming and outgoing telephone calls.

  1. Click System administration > Setup > Licensing > License configuration.

  2. In the License configuration form, expand the Sales and marketing series node, and then select the Telephony integration check box.

  3. Click Apply.

  4. Click Sales and marketing > Setup > Telephony > Phone parameters. Select the line device that you want to enable, and then click Set active line device.

If you recently installed a new telephone or modem line device and it is not listed, click Initialize to update the list.

  5. To view additional information about the line device, click Show line device dialog.

  6. Close the form, and then restart the Microsoft Dynamics AX client.
