Recipient Properties > General Tab > Custom Attributes

Applies to: Exchange Server 2007 SP3, Exchange Server 2007 SP2, Exchange Server 2007 SP1

Use the Custom Attributes dialog box to view or change the custom attributes for a recipient.

You can use custom attributes to store information about your users that does not easily fit into the existing fields. For example, you can use a custom attribute to store the cost center or employee number for your users.

You can also use custom attributes to create recipient conditions for dynamic distribution groups, e-mail address policies, and address lists.

Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 provides 15 custom attributes for each recipient. To configure a custom attribute for a recipient, use the text box that corresponds to the custom attribute you want.

Note

If you have mailboxes in your organization that were previously upgraded from Exchange Server version 5.5, Custom Attribute 10 may still have a value of NTDSNoMatch. This value indicates that the mailbox should not be matched to a corresponding Active Directory directory service user account during the upgrade process. If the upgrade of Exchange Server 5.5 mailboxes is complete, you can use this custom attribute for another purpose.
