Use the Move Mailbox wizard to move selected mailboxes from one server to another.

noteNote:
You can also use the Exchange Management Shell to move mailboxes. For more information, see the Move-Mailbox cmdlet reference topic.

The Move Mailbox wizard allows you to move mailboxes in the following scenarios:

  • Moving mailboxes from Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server to Exchange Server 2007.
  • Moving mailboxes from Exchange Server 2003 to Exchange 2007.
  • Moving mailboxes from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2000.
  • Moving mailboxes from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2003.
  • Moving mailboxes between Exchange 2007 servers.

noteNote:
You cannot use the Move Mailbox wizard to move mailboxes across Exchange organizations. To move a mailbox from an Exchange organization in one forest to an Exchange organization in another forest, you must use the Move-Mailbox cmdlet. For more information about the Move-Mailbox cmdlet, see Move-Mailbox.

Use this page to specify the destination where you want to move the mailbox.

Mailbox database

Click Browse to display the Select Mailbox Database dialog box. Use the Select Mailbox Database dialog box to select the mailbox database where you want to move the mailbox, and then click OK.
