Use the Allowed Addresses tab on the IP Allow List properties to create and manage a list of specific IP addresses for which the Connection Filter agent should send inbound messages to their destinations without additional processing by other anti-spam agents.

  • Add
To add IP addresses to the list of allowed addresses, click Add, and then select one of the following:

    • IP Address   Add a specific IP address. For example, 197.86.11.0.1/24.

    • IP and Mask   Add an IP address and mask as in the following example: IP=192.168.0.1; and Mask=255.255.255.0.

    • IP Range   Add a range of IP addresses as in the following example: Start Address=192.168.0.1; End Address=192.168.0.254.

      Note

If Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 1 (SP1) is deployed on a computer that is running Windows Server 2008, you can enter IP addresses and IP address ranges in the Internet Protocol Version 4 (IPv4) format, Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6) format, or both formats. A default installation of Windows Server 2008 enables support for IPv4 and IPv6. For more information about Exchange 2007 SP1 support for IPv6 addresses, see IPv6 Support in Exchange 2007 SP1 and SP2.

For more information about how to add an IP Range, see Edge Transport > Anti-Spam > IP Allow List Properties > Add Allowed IP Address Range Dialog.

  • Remove
To remove an IP address, select an IP address from the Remote IP Address(es) list, and then click Remove icon.
  • Apply
To save your changes without closing the Allowed Addresses tab, click Apply.
