The Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 Management Pack for Operations Manager monitors the Windows Application log on computers that are running Exchange Server 2007 and generates this alert when the event or events specified in the following Details table are logged.

To learn more about this event, do one or more of the following:

  • Review the description of the event that includes the variables specific to your environment. From the Operator Console, select this alert, and then click the Properties tab.

  • Review all events that have been logged that meet the criteria of this Operations Manager alert. From the Operator Console, click the Events tab, and then double-click the event in the list for which you want to review the event description.

Explanation

This Error event may be triggered by multiple causes. Similarly, the method by which you resolve this error varies greatly depending on what triggered this event in your particular Microsoft Exchange environment. This Error event may be accompanied by MSExchangeSA error event 2035, or MSExchangeAL error events 8325, 8231, and 8357.

The %1 value will be replaced by the distinguished name (DN) of the address list.

The %2 value will be replaced by the specific error.

The %3 value will be replaced by a link to Search the Support Knowledge Base (KB).

User Action

To resolve this error, do one or more of the following:

  • Review the System and Application event logs for related events. For example, events that occur immediately before and after this event may provide more information about the root cause of this error.

  • If the Application event log has MSExchangeSA Error event 2035, uninstall the third-party application referenced in the Error event. Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 does not support third-party 32-bit applications and attempting to install them will result in failure because they do not include a 64-bit address generator.

  • Run the tools that Exchange offers to help administrators analyze and troubleshoot their Exchange environment. Open the Toolbox node of the Exchange Management Console to run these tools.
