The delivery of a message sent by the public folder failed

The Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 Management Pack for Operations Manager monitors the Windows Application log on computers that are running Exchange Server 2007 and generates this alert when the event or events specified in the following Details table are logged.

To learn more about this event, do one or more of the following:

  • Review the description of the event that includes the variables specific to your environment. From the Operator Console, select this alert, and then click the Properties tab.
  • Review all events that have been logged that meet the criteria of this Operations Manager alert. From the Operator Console, click the Events tab, and then double-click the event in the list for which you want to review the event description.

MOM Rule Name

The delivery of a message sent by the public folder failed. The non-delivery report (NDR) was deleted.

This Error event indicates that a non-delivery report (NDR) was sent to a public folder and that the NDR was deleted. This error may be caused by one of the following:

  • The Error event was sent on behalf of a public folder.
  • Sending copies of Delivery Status Notifications (DSNs) to a public folder.
  • Public folder replication problems.

To resolve this error, follow one or more of these steps:

  • Review the event description of this event. The event description contains information about which folder has a problem. Verify that the folder settings are correct.
  • Review the Application log for related entries that might provide more information about this issue.
  • Check replication status and DSN settings for the public folder.
  • If the problem persists, contact Microsoft Product Support Services. For more information about how to contact support, visit Microsoft Help and Support.
