Exchange ActiveSync has encountered repeated failures communicating with a Mailbox server. The process will be postponed.

Explanation

This Error event indicates that repeated failures occurred when Exchange ActiveSync tried to access data on the computer that is running the Mailbox server role. Specifically, multiple unsuccessful mailbox requests/access occurred. Another symptom that you may find is that Exchange ActiveSync users report that it takes them more time than usual to synchronize their devices with the computer that is running Microsoft® Exchange Server. This event may be logged if the mailbox server is overloaded. For example, this error may indicate that there are too many users on the mailbox server. It may also indicate that there are other performance issues with the mailbox server.

User Action

To resolve this error, consider the following:

  • If this event is infrequently logged, no user action is required.

  • If this event is frequently logged, take one or more of these steps:

    • Consider decreasing the load on the mailbox server specified in the event description.

    • Review the Application log for other events that could indicate the root cause of performance problems on the mailbox server specified in the event description.
