The Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 Management Pack for Operations Manager monitors the Windows Application log on computers that are running Exchange Server 2007 and generates this alert when the event or events specified in the following Details table are logged.

To learn more about this event, do one or more of the following:

  • Review the description of the event that includes the variables specific to your environment. From the Operator Console, select this alert, and then click the Properties tab.

  • Review all events that have been logged that meet the criteria of this Operations Manager alert. From the Operator Console, click the Events tab, and then double-click the event in the list for which you want to review the event description.

OALGen only supports alphanumeric and space characters on the offline address name. This OAB will not be generated.

Explanation

This Error event indicates that Exchange was unable to successfully generate one or more offline address lists. This failure occurs when the name of an offline address list contains characters that are not valid. Offline address list names only support the use of alphanumeric and space characters.

User Action

To resolve this error, edit the names of any offline address lists so that they only include alphanumeric characters and space characters by following these steps.

  1. In Exchange Management Console, expand Organization Configuration, and then click Mailbox.

  2. In the details pane, click the Offline Address Lists tab.

  3. On the Offline Address List tab, right-click the offline address list that includes characters that are not valid, and then click Properties. Make sure that the new name you specify only includes alphanumeric and space characters.

  4. Click OK to save the changes.
