How to Run the Operations Manager 2007 Prerequisite Viewer

The Prerequisite Viewer helps you easily determine whether a computer meets the system requirements for the selected Operations Manager 2007 components. For detailed information about Operations Manager 2007 system requirements, see OpsMgr2007SupportedConfigurations.htm on the Operations Manager 2007 installation media.

Important

The Prerequisite Viewer requires the Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0, available at https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=64221.

To run the Operations Manager 2007 Prerequisite Viewer

  1. Log on to the computer that you want to evaluate, with at least local user privileges.

  2. Double-click the SetupOM.exe file on the Operations Manager 2007 installation media.

  3. On the Start page, click Check Prerequisites.

  4. Select the components for which you want to evaluate prerequisites, and click Check to display the status of prerequisites for the selected Operations Manager 2007 components.

  5. If all of the prerequisites receive a status of Passed, click Close. If a prerequisite receives a status of Warning or Failed, click More for detailed information about the prerequisite and how to resolve the issue. For prerequisites with a status of Warning, the recommended prerequisite for the selected Operations Manager 2007 components, such as physical memory, is not met. Installation can continue but Operations Manager 2007 functionality may be degraded.

    Note

Microsoft Office Word 2003 with the .NET Programmability feature and Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Tools for the Microsoft Office System must be installed to edit management pack knowledge data in the Operations Manager 2007 Operations Console. To download Visual Studio 2005 Tools for the Microsoft Office System, see https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=74969.
