Using This Guide
This guide is intended to serve as a part of the Microsoft® Solution Accelerator for Business Desktop Deployment (BDD) to guide a specialist team through the deployment tasks and checkpoints for upgrading Microsoft Office XP and Microsoft Office 2003 Editions to the 2007 Microsoft Office system. The 2007 Office system upgrade is part of the larger desktop deployment project and must be managed as such. The objective is to have the decisions made within this initiative align with the overall project goals and have the deliverables well integrated into the total migration project.
This guide is intended as a sub-guide to the Application Management Feature Team Guide, which contains guidance on team structure and organization. Refer to that guide for any questions regarding team organization, communications, and roles.
Deliverables for the team using this guide must mesh with those of the other teams on the BDD 2007 for Windows Vista™ and the 2007 Office system (BDD 2007) project. Refer to the guides shown in Table 1 for information related to Microsoft Office deployment steps and to ensure that the Microsoft Office deployment is synchronized with the rest of the project.
