How to Encrypt Client to Management Point Data in Mixed Mode

Applies To: System Center Configuration Manager 2007, System Center Configuration Manager 2007 R2, System Center Configuration Manager 2007 R3, System Center Configuration Manager 2007 SP1, System Center Configuration Manager 2007 SP2

noteNote
This procedure applies only to sites operating in mixed mode. Because sites operating in native mode use an existing public key infrastructure (PKI), the data sent between clients and their management point in native mode is automatically signed and encrypted using the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol.

To encrypt client to management point data in mixed mode

  1. Navigate to System CenterConfiguration Manager / Site Database / Site Management / <site code> - <site name>.

  2. Right-click <site code> - <site name> and then click Properties.

  3. On the Site Mode tab, select the Encrypt data before sending to Management Point check box.
