How to Configure Site Components

In the Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2007 console, you can use Site Settings Component Configuration to specify software distribution, status reporting, and settings for some site roles.

How to Configure Status Reporting Components
All major Configuration Manager 2007 components generate status messages. You can specify that status messages be reported to the status system, to the event log, or both. You can configure where status messages are reported and stored for both the server and the client.

How to Configure Site Status Configuration
All major Configuration Manager 2007 components generate status messages. Although, the default status configuration settings will be usable for most sites, it may be necessary to modify them to meet the specific needs of an individual site.
