Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 setup cannot continue because the local computer cannot update the Active Directory schema.

Microsoft Exchange setup requires that Ldifde.exe be installed on the local computer to make necessary extensions to the Active Directory schema.

To resolve this issue, install Ldifde.exe on the local computer and rerun Exchange Server 2007 setup or start Exchange Server 2007 setup from a domain controller.

noteNote:
When the Active Directory schema has been extended, Exchange 2007 server roles can be installed on the local computer without ldifde.exe being installed.
To install Ldifde.exe on the local computer
  1. Click Start, Run, and in the Open field run 'ServerManagerCmd -i RSAT-ADDS'
