Use the Authentication tab to specify the method by which your POP3 or IMAP4 users will log on.
Note
After you have configured the authentication settings for either the POP3 or IMAP4 service by using the Exchange Management Console, you must restart the POP3 or IMAP4 service, depending on which service you are using. Plain text logon (Basic authentication) |
Select this option if you want to send user names and passwords in clear text. Using this option enables user names and passwords to be sent to the server without a TLS connection. |
Plain text authentication logon (Integrated Windows authentication) |
Select this option if you want to use Integrated Windows authentication without a TLS connection. |
Secure Logon |
Select this option if you want to require a TLS connection. |
X.509 certificate name |
Use this text box to specify the X.509 certificate name to use for a TLS session. |
