Public Folder Database Properties > Public Folder Referral Tab > Server Referral Cost

Use the Server Referral Cost dialog box to select the server on which to create the public folder referral and to assign the cost of the server.

  • Server name
    Use this read-only name field to view the name of the server on which to create the public folder referral.

    Click Browse to open the Select Referral Server dialog box. Use this dialog box to select the referral server from the list of available servers that contain a public folder database. For more information about this dialog box, see Public Folder Database Properties > Public Folder Referral Tab > Server Referral Cost > Select Referral Server.

    Note

    You cannot select a server that is already in the list of severs that appear in the Name column in the Public Folder Referral tab, nor can you select the server on which the specified public folder database resides.

  • Cost
    Assign a cost number between 1 and 100, The number 1 represents the lowest cost, which means that Exchange routing is more likely to use this as the replica server. The number 100 represents the highest cost, which means that Exchange routing is less likely to use this as the replica server.
