How to Stop Publishing Site Information to Active Directory Domain Services

Applies To: System Center Configuration Manager 2007, System Center Configuration Manager 2007 R2, System Center Configuration Manager 2007 R3, System Center Configuration Manager 2007 SP1, System Center Configuration Manager 2007 SP2

Any existing Configuration Manager objects in Active Directory Domain Services are not automatically removed by Configuration Manager when the site stops publishing site data. The objects need to be removed manually. Failure to remove Configuration Manager objects from Active Directory Domain Services can cause problems for client auto-assignment and roaming. To determine site information published to Active Directory Domain Services, see How to Verify That Site Information Is Published to Active Directory Domain Services.

To stop a Configuration Manager site from publishing site data to Active Directory Domain Services

  1. In the Configuration Manager console, navigate to System Center Configuration Manager \ Site Database\ Site Management\<server name>.

  2. Right click <site name>, and select Properties.

  3. From the site properties Advanced tab, clear the Publish this site in Active Directory Domain Services check box.

  4. Click OK to close the site properties dialog box.
