How to Configure the Health State Reference Publishing Account

Applies To: System Center Configuration Manager 2007, System Center Configuration Manager 2007 R2, System Center Configuration Manager 2007 R3, System Center Configuration Manager 2007 SP1, System Center Configuration Manager 2007 SP2

If your Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2007 site servers and System Health Validator points are not in the same Active Directory forest, you must designate the Active Directory forest and domain that will store the health state references, and you must specify an account to use when publishing the health state references to Active Directory Domain Services.

If no account is configured, Configuration Manager attempts to use the site server computer account to publish the health state references.

To specify the Health State Reference Publishing account

  1. In the Configuration Manager console, navigate to System Center Configuration Manager / Site Database / Site Management / <site code> - <site name> / Site Settings / Component Configuration.

  2. In the results pane, double-click System Health Validator Point Component.

  3. In the System Health Validator Point Component Properties dialog box, click the Health State Reference tab, and then click Designate an Active Directory forest.

  4. For the Health state reference publishing account, click Set.

  5. In the Windows User Account dialog box, specify an existing Windows domain user account and password, and then click OK.
