Creating or Removing a Group

This topic describes how to create or remove a group as part of managing a speech application in the Microsoft Speech Server (MSS) environment. The group displays the MSS server configuration, whether services are distributed or all on one computer.

In MSS, groups can be created or removed using the Microsoft Management Console (MMC) snap-in for MSS.

To create a standard group for administration

  1. Open the MMC Administration console. (For instructions, see Administering Speech Server Using MMC.)

  2. In the console tree, right-click Microsoft Speech Server and then click Create Group.

  3. Enter a name for the new group, and then click OK.

To remove an MSS group

  1. Open the MMC Administration console. (For instructions, see Administering Speech Server Using MMC.)

  2. In the details pane, right-click the applicable group and then click Remove This Group.
