The following sources provide additional information for Microsoft Speech Server (MSS) and for the Microsoft Speech Application Platform.

Speech Application SDK

The Speech Application SDK (SASDK) is for developers who create speech applications that run on MSS. The SASDK contains information for creating, testing, and deploying speech applications in an MSS system.

The SASDK is included with MSS.

Newsgroups

The following Microsoft-supported Usenet newsgroups may be of interest:

  • microsoft.public.netspeechsdk holds discussions on Microsoft Speech Tags, Speech Controls, and SALT.

  • microsoft.public.speech_tech.sdk holds discussions on SAPI 5.

Use a newsreader to access newsgroups. Outlook Express, which is included with Microsoft Internet Explorer, contains a newsreader. If needed, download and install Internet Explorer from Microsoft Internet Explorer Home page.

To configure Outlook Express to read newsgroups
  1. Open Outlook Express and click Set up a Newsgroups account.

  2. Complete the Newgroups Account wizard by following the on-screen instructions.

  3. When prompted for News Server, enter msnews.microsoft.com. Because an account name or password is not required, clear the This Server Requires Me To Log On check box.
