Server Hardware Recommendations

Server Hardware Recommendations

Follow the recommendations in this section closely to ensure a successful installation and deployment of Microsoft Speech Server.

Standard Edition

The following hardware recommendations are for a single server topology. A server is defined as a computer that has a hardware-level fault tolerance that communicates over a TCP/IP network. Fault tolerance compliance requires redundant power supplies and RAID on all drives.

Enterprise Edition

The following are hardware recommendations for a distributed server topology. A server is defined as a computer that has a hardware-level fault tolerance that communicates over a TCP/IP network. Fault tolerance compliance requires redundant power supplies and RAID on all drives.

Also ensure that the Windows swap file (Pagefile.sys) size is set to a minimum of 4 GB on each SES computer and each TAS computer. For information on configuring swap file size, see Windows Server Help.
