Log Events by Severity (Type)

Use this procedure to enable/disable logging of events by their severity (type).

Bb687414.note(en-us,TechNet.10).gif Note   If you did not install Application Center Events and Performance Logging, you cannot enable logging.

To enable and disable event logging for a particular severity

  1. In the Application Center snap-in, expand the cluster node.

  2. Right-click the Events node, and then click Properties.

  3. Under Events, select the event severity that you want logged for each product (Application Center, Windows, and Health Monitor).

  4. To disable event logging for events created by the specific product, click None.

  5. To log Informational events, click All.

    Bb687414.note(en-us,TechNet.10).gif Note   Error events are automatically logged to the Windows Event log when Application Center Events and Performance Logging is installed. When it is not installed, both Warning and Error events are logged to the Windows Event Log, as well as several request forwarding events.

Bb687414.caution(en-us,TechNet.10).gif Caution   Once the data is removed from the log, it is no longer available. If you want to use this information, archive the logged data before it expires.
