Deploy Across a WAN

You can use Microsoft Content Deployment Service, formerly called Content Replication System, to deploy content and applications across a wide area network (WAN).

Application Center provides deployment of content and configuration settings from the cluster controller to the cluster members and deployment from one cluster to another over the network. However, for WAN deployments, Content Deployment Service is provided on the Application Center CD. Content Deployment Service stages and deploys Web pages and other file-based information across geographically remote, secured networks to multiple destination servers and is optimized for the various network issues associated with WAN deployments.

To install the Content Deployment Service

  • On the Application Center CD, go to the Content Deployment Service directory, and then double-click SetupCRS.exe.
  • For more information about applications, see Application Fundamentals.

  • For more information about synchronization and deployment, see Synchronization Fundamentals.

  • For more information about the Content Deployment Service, see the documentation that is included with the Content Deployment Service installation.
