Use the General tab to view the properties of a public folder database, to change its name, and to customize its maintenance schedule.

Use this tab to view and configure the following attributes of a public folder database.

  • Name
This box at the top of the tab (without a label) displays the name of the public folder database. You can change the name of the database by typing a new name in this box.
  • Database path
This field displays the full path to the Exchange database (.edb) file for the selected public folder database. To view the entire path, you may have to click the path and use the RIGHT ARROW key.

You cannot use this field to change the path. To change the location of the database files, close Properties, right-click the database, and then click Move Database Files. You can also change the location by using the Move-DatabasePath (RTM) cmdlet in the Exchange Management Shell.

  • Database copy path
If local continuous replication (LCR) is enabled for the storage group that contains the public folder database, this field displays the location of the copy of the public folder database. To view the entire path, you may have to click the path and use the RIGHT ARROW key.

For information about enabling LCR for a storage group, see Managing Local Continuous Replication.

  • Last incremental backup
This field displays the date and time of the last incremental backup of the public folder database.
  • Modified
This field displays the last date and time that the public folder database was modified.
