The Microsoft Exchange Analyzer Tool reads the registry to determine if either of the following two subkeys are present:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Red Earth Software\Policy Patrol\3.0

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wow6432Node\Red Earth Software\Policy Patrol\3.0

The presence of either of these branches indicates that Red Earth Software's Policy Patrol version 3.0 for Exchange Server is installed on the local computer.

If the Exchange Analyzer finds that Policy Patrol version 3 for Exchange Server is installed on the local computer, the Exchange Analyzer displays a warning.

This warning indicates that a recommended update of Policy Patrol for Exchange Server is available.
