Applies To: System Center Configuration Manager 2007, System Center Configuration Manager 2007 R2, System Center Configuration Manager 2007 R3, System Center Configuration Manager 2007 SP1, System Center Configuration Manager 2007 SP2

The Advertised Programs Client Agent, like other client agents, is installed on all clients by Configuration Manager 2007, but it is necessary to configure the agent to match the needs of your site.

noteNote
Although the Advertised Programs Client Agent is automatically enabled when doing a standard installation on a client computer, it is not automatically enabled when performing a custom installation.

To configure the Advertised Programs Client Agent

  1. In the Configuration Manager console, navigate to System CenterConfiguration Manager / Site Database / Site Management / <site name> / Client Agents.

  2. Right-click Advertised Programs Client Agent, and then click Properties.

  3. On the General tab, enable software distribution if necessary and configure the client agent.

For more information about the tabs in this dialog box, see Advertised Programs Client Agent Properties.

  4. On the Notification tab, configure additional client options as desired.
