Operating System Deployment: Operating System Images Node

Applies To: System Center Configuration Manager 2007, System Center Configuration Manager 2007 R2, System Center Configuration Manager 2007 R3, System Center Configuration Manager 2007 SP1, System Center Configuration Manager 2007 SP2

The Operating System Images node displays a list of the Operating System Deployment image packages that have been created, the actions that can be run, and, when an operating system image package is selected from the Operating System Images results pane, specific actions that can be run for that operating system image package.

The Operating System Deployment image packages that have been created are displayed in a list in the Operating System Images results pane. The Name column is used as the default sort order. The following columns are displayed by default:

  • Name: The name of the operating system image package. The name is derived from the operating system image selected when the operating system image package was created, followed by the Image ID associated with the package.

  • Version: The version of the operating system image package.

  • Comments: The optional description entered for the operating system image package.

  • Image ID: The ID number created by Configuration Manager 2007 for the operating system image package.

You can filter the operating system image packages that are displayed in the Operating System Images pane using the four filter actions located above the list.

  • Version

  • Comment
