Applies To: System Center Configuration Manager 2007, System Center Configuration Manager 2007 R2, System Center Configuration Manager 2007 R3, System Center Configuration Manager 2007 SP1, System Center Configuration Manager 2007 SP2

The first time you run a report from the Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2007 console, you must configure whether the reports run in the Microsoft Management Console (MMC) or in a new window of Internet Explorer and which reporting point to use when running reports.

If you do not have a reporting point configured, you must configure one to use any reports, including reports from the home page.

The following features in Configuration Manager 2007 have home pages that allow you to view selected reports about the feature:

  • Software distribution

  • Software updates

  • Network Access Protection

  • Operating system deployment

  • Desired configuration management

To configure the default reporting point

  1. In the Configuration Manager console, navigate to System CenterConfiguration Manager, right-click Site Database, and then click ReportOptions.

  2. In the Report Options dialog box, click the arrow to select a reporting point and then click OK.

To change the display window for reports

  1. In the Configuration Manager console, navigate to System CenterConfiguration Manager, right-click Site Database, and then click ReportOptions.

  2. In the Report Options dialog box, click to clear or select Open reports in a new window check box and then click OK.
